Broadcast Email

An increasing number of your customers supply an email address along with their other contact information. If you are interested in communicating with your customers via email, for either a billing effort, a renewal notice, or a special offer, ITPS 2.0 offers support for your broadcast email efforts.

Collecting Your Customers' Email Addresses

In order to collect your customers' email addresses, you need to call your client account manager and indicate that you will be using your web pages to populate the following fields:

Field Name Description
EmailAdr To store your customers' email addresses
emaperm The level of consent your customer gives for usage of their email addresses. Valid values are: A (no data provided -- this is the default), B (all uses), C (publisher level usage), D (publication level usage), W (all promotions except renewal), X (no promotions except renewals), and Y (no promotions)
emadate The date of the transaction in which the email address is provided. The default is the date that the transaction is generated.
emadelv A marker for those email addresses which return messages as "Undeliverable". This field will be updated after a Broadcast Email if you or your Broadcast Email vendor provides Kable with an XDB Update record.

To tell ITPS 2.0 to collect your email fields, simply turn your XDB option on by including the following HTML tag on your web page:

<input type=hidden name="XDB" value="On">

ITPS 2.0 will then append your customers' email information to the transaction it sends to the Kable Fulfillment Services processing system.
