Dynamic Account Lookup

Second Attempt

Second Attempt processing allows the customer to try the account lookup again in a different way. For example, if the first attempt cannot find the customer by name/address, the reply can prompt for email address or customer identification number. The following tag is required to do "second attempt" processing:

  • DoSecondAttempt=On
There are also two new tags, iResponseSecondAttempt and iClientResponseSecondAttempt, that can be used to customize the reply. These work in the same way as iResponse and iClientResponse, but are only used if DoSecondAttempt=On and the first lookup fails to find the customer's account.

To demonstrate the default "second attempt" reply, submit an account lookup using the following name/address information. This user cannot be found, so a "second attempt" reply will be returned. To see the default reply for foreign subscribers, change the country to Mexico and blank out the State and Zip Code fields.
