Testing Your Web Pages
Live web pages can be tested without inserting a transaction into the ITPS database, and without changing your existing web form. This is accomplished by prefixing one or more of the following fields with "+":
The "+" is used to indicate to ITPS that this is a test transaction. The "+" is stripped from these fields before processing continues (or replaced with "#" for 21-character matchcodes), but is re-added to any of the corresponding substitution variables before generating the response. This is to ensure any transactions submitted from the response page are also test transactions (ex. The response from an Inquiry is used to submit a Payment). Transactions tested this way will not perform credit card authorization (even if DoCCAuth is on) and will not insert into the ITPS database. Therefore, these transactions will not increase Volume Reporting counts and will not be available for further processing by any of the backend subscription fulfillment systems. Other additional processing that may be indicated, such as Netcentives or Secondary Posting, will also be ignored. All other edit checks are performed. Examples:
