System Generated Web Responses: Overview

After your customer hits the "submit" button on your web page, ITPS 2.0 checks the incoming data to make sure that all the necessary information is present to process the transaction, and does some hygiene on a few critical fields to insure that the transaction flows into Kable's processing systems as smoothly and as quickly as possible. ITPS 2.0 then returns a web page to your customer. The web page that goes back to your customer will indicate one of the following:

  • The transaction has been successfully received
  • There is information missing from the transaction that must be provided before the transaction can be processed
  • The information provided does not meet the minimum standards for processing
  • There is a problem with the web page that prevents the transaction from being submitted.

If you have not opted to use the ITPS Custom Messaging utility, the web pages that are returned to your customer are generated by the ITPS system. The following tags are available to personalize the ITPS system generated responses to your customer:

HTML Tag Name Description
iCompanyName The business name you want displayed in the title bar of your customer's web browser
iReturnURLText The highlighted text that your customer clicks on to return to web page of your choice
iReturnURL The location and name of the web page you want your customer to return to after a success or an error
iWebMaster The highlighted text that your customer clicks on to contact you in case of a problem with your web form
iWebMasterAdr The email address, or the name and location of the web form, that handles your customers' comments/questions about your web forms

If you do not include these tags on your web page, these features will not be available on the system generated response screens. It is a good idea to provide them on all of your web pages linking to Kable's ITPS application, even if you are planning to use custom responses (discussed in an upcoming section). In the event that the database is unavailable at the time your customer submits a transaction, ITPS will return the system generated response screens. By using these tags, you insure that the dialogue between you and your customer is always as personal as possible.
