CHEVY HIGH PERFORMANCE "BIG-BLOCK ENGINE SWEEPSTAKES"

NO PURCHASE OR OBLIGATION NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN

1. Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 AM (ET) on 9/4/01 and ends at 12:00 midnight (ET) on 1/15/02 (the "Promotional Period"). Prize will be awarded in a random drawing from all eligible entries received.

2. How To Enter:You may enter via the online method or write-in method. To enter online with your paid subscription, go to http://www.chevyhiperformance.com, click on the "subscribe" link and follow the instructions on how to subscribe to Chevy High Performance and be entered into the sweepstakes. To enter online without a subscription, go to http://www.chevyhiperformance.com, click on the sweepstakes link and complete the "Chevy Big-Block Engine Sweepstakes" entry form. Entrants must complete all the required information on the online entry form during the entry period. Online entry must be received by 12:00 midnight (ET) on 1/15/02 in order to be eligible. To enter via the write-in method, complete the enclosed or attached entry form and mail to: Chevy High Performance, P.O. Box 51795, Boulder, CO 80322-1795. Write-in entries must be postmarked by 1/15/02 and received by 1/31/02 in order to be eligible. You may use either entry method (write-in or online), but there is a limit of one entry per person, family, household or email address. Incomplete entries are void. No copies or mechanical reproductions will be accepted. Multiple entries submitted by a single entrant, whether via write-in or online, are void.

Sponsor assumes no responsibility for late, lost, stolen, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or postage due mail, or for any computer, online, telephone, or human error or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Sweepstakes will be presented in various creative presentations by multiple publications owned by emap usa. These publications include but are not limited to Chevy High Performance Magazine. Subscription purchase does not increase your chances of winning. To enter without purchase or obligation, place an "X" in the appropriate box indicating that you do not wish to be a subscriber. The use of any automated launching or entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that permits the participant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited.

3. Drawing: A random drawing will be conducted on or about 2/15/02 under the supervision of Marden-Kane, Inc., an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final on matters relating to this sweepstakes. Odds of winning are based on the number of eligible online and write-in entries received during the entry period. Prize will be awarded.

4. Prize: One (1) Grand Prize of a Big-Block Chevy Crate Motor from GM Performance Parts. Approximate Retail Value: $15,000.00. No substitutions, cash equivalents, or transfer of prize(s) permitted except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize is unavailable. Winner is responsible for payment of taxes on prize and for any other expenses relating to the use of prize that are not itemized above.

5. Eligibility: Sweepstakes open only to legal residents of the continental United States who are 18 years of age or older. Void where restricted or prohibited by law. Employees of emap usa, its affiliates, suppliers, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children and siblings and their respective spouses) and individuals living in the same households are ineligible. Sweepstakes subject to all applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations. By participating, entrants agree to these official rules and accept decisions of the Sponsor and Marden-Kane, Inc. as final in all matters relating to this promotion.

6. To Claim Prize: Winner will be notified by mail and/or e-mail on or about 2/28/02 and may be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility and liability release and, where legal, a publicity release which must be returned within 14 days of issuance of notification. Non-compliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

7. Limitation of Liability: By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, prize suppliers, employees and agents including Marden-Kane, Inc. from any and all liability or injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions or any liability of any kind resulting from or arising from participation in the sweepstakes or acceptance, possession, use, misuse or nonuse of the prize that may be awarded. Winner consents to the use of their name/likeness for advertising and promotional purposes online or in print without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. The Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsors due to any technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this sweepstakes or downloading any materials in this sweepstakes. If, in the judges' opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the sweepstakes, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the sweepstakes, the judges reserve the right to void any suspect entries and/or to modify or terminate this sweepstakes in whole or in part at any time without notice and award the prize(s) using all eligible entries received as of this termination date. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON OR PERSONS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g. business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
